Cathie Stankevitch Foundation

The Cathie Stankevitch Foundation was formed as a Registered Charity back in 2016, after the tragic death of Cathie, a much loved wife, mum, nan, daughter and sister.

On Sunday 27th September 2015, Cathie was walking her dogs along a footpath in Widnes, Cheshire, when a vehicle left the road and mounted the pathway, after the driver suffered a medical episode.

The collision left Cathie fighting for her life for a very short time, before she succumbed to her horrendous injuries.

Things We've Done

The early days of the Charity we're tough. We had to work very hard to raise funds, to enable us to carry out some of the self-funded projects that we were passionate about delivering. Lots of volunteers and volunteer hours went into numerous events and activities that set us on our way and helped us to get where we are today, for which we will be forever grateful.

01

Motown Nights

01

Cathie was a lover of all kinds of music, in particular, Motown, and through our events we brought friends and family together to remember Cathie, and raise funds in her name.

02

Charity Sports Shop

01

From 2018 until 2021, the Charity operated a clearance Sports Shop with the support of New Balance UK, to help generate vital funds.

03

ZipWorld Sponsored Event

01

We gathered a team of brave souls, to put their bodies literally on the line, for the Charity, and we travelled into Wales to complete a Zip Wire challenge deep in the valleys.

04

Charity Rugby League Day

04

We organised a full day of Rugby League, which included matches between local kids, adult amateurs and former Professionals. Held at the Widnes Rugby League Stadium, over £10k was raised from this event.

05

Award Winners in 2016

04

Our committed group of volunteers were awarded the Wire FM Contribution To Charity award back in 2016, which was very well deserved after months of work in launching the Charity.
